Welcome August!

Aka- level 8 😉😄

This year is both flying by and taking its time. I can’t believe fall is just around the corner!

I’m excited to spook up my house 🧛‍♀️🧝🏼‍♀️

And enjoy some cooler weather for a change.

Ebook or No Ebook?

Let’s get down to it

Honestly. I dislike Ebooks…

I know, I know! Why do you publish Ebooks if you hate them so much?

  • Because everyone likes Ebooks (well most people do)
  • Ebooks sell better than paperbacks
  • They’re cheaper- better for budgeters
  • Social media connect – makes its so much simpler to share your favourite titles with friends and family
  • Super ideal to pack and travel with
  • Access to thousands of titles at your fingertips
  • …. and that’s all I got. 😄

The truth is, publishing via Ebook prior to releasing a paperback is a great way to start stirring up reviews and attention for the book on a minimal budget. Many editors, publishers and writers have said this (and proved it) over and over again. Especially those of us that are publishing independently.

But I hate them!

  • I don’t like staring at a screen that long. Special screen, special glasses or not, my eyes tire out.
  • I lose interest in reading!
The book may be great but I can never sit down and read on a kindle as long as I can sit with a physical book.
  • Forgetting to charge the darn thing!! 🤦🏻‍♀️
  • Losing the cords!
  • Your kindle crashes! (I’ve been a victim … I posted about it too)
  • I like having signed copies of my favourite authors (heck I like being able to sign my own books for others to have)
  • You lose out on that new book (or old book) smell
  • You don’t get to walk the isles of a bookshop and sift through titles weighing the book, the price and the catchy ness of the first paragraph as you decide what to buy or pass on.

So what are your thoughts?

Ebook or real book?

What are some of your “convincing” points when telling someone why you like one vs the other?

Eager to sit back and relax??

I can’t believe I actually posted that comment… do I even know myself? I’m not the relaxing type lol

Book 3 is well underway and it’s nothing like my Victorian era books. I had been a little worried I would fall into a category and would only be able to write certain things, but then I realised, I am my own category. I write what pulls me, what draws me in and won’t let me go. I write until I feel that story has been released.

Sometimes It’s a full book, sometimes it’s only a page or two, sometimes it’s submitting one article on a topic I recently found interesting.

I write what I feel needs to be written. And right now, a lot is screaming to be read.

So why on earth would I have said I’m read to sit back and relax??? 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

Here’s to new beginnings and realising the ghosts.

Happy July 2020 everyone!

May the year start looking up!

Oh how I long for warmer days …

Morning, Evening or Afternoon world.

How is everyone on this chilly Sunday evening (or Monday when this goes live)?

I feel Mother Nature tricked me a bit this week, she gave NC a couple of beautiful days this past week, just to rip it away with some nasty 20 degree days this coming week.

Ugh! It’s cold. And I’m from the north darn it!

I haven’t been able to blog much these past few months, between work, holidays, my never-ending reading list and my current WIP… my days have been booked solid.

Plus, I honestly don’t know what the heck you guys care to read about? My life is pretty darn boring for the most part. But I’m trying to liven it up a bit for you 😜

So many great things coming this year.

I feel like 2020 is going to be a great year for a lot of people.

Already I’m seeing people making big changes, sticking to goals they set back in mid-2019 and reaping the benefits of their hard work 💜

I couldn’t feel more proud.

Go and Get It!

Let’s use this year to grab what we want and stop living in the fear that we’re not ready or we’re not good enough.

Stop the mental road block and just drive.

The reason why I prefer Real books over digital

This, this picture right here sums up my entire reason for being annoyed and making this blog post 😭

This darn Kindle has been on the fritz since last week!

I can’t get it to do anything except freeze on the start up screen 🤦🏻‍♀️

I hate ebooks. I really do.

I mean, I enjoy them when it comes to packing up and moving around, which I do a lot of. But I can’t and never will get over the enjoyment of browsing a bookstore and walking out with a heavy stack of brand new reads 😊

But this! Oh My God!

I bought my first ebook in months and can’t even begin to take a look at.

I know I could read it on my phone, but damn, aren’t we on the phone enough these days? Besides, I BOUGHT A KINDLE for that very reason! 😫

The frustration is real….
