So Kayla and I have been house-sitting for the last week, mostly babysitting a new mama and her kittens, but doing some house chores as well for a teacher of ours while she is on her honeymoon.
I have no idea how she can manage to live in this apartment above the worst, noisiest neighbor I’ve met yet! He has been running his bass and sound system most nights, all night long. Kayla and I have been sleeping with earplugs in and our music playing in the living room to help drown out the sound. My glass of water will actually vibrate when it’s sitting on the coffee table. It’s just such an obnoxious beat—nonstop.
Kayla went downstairs Wednesday and left a note on his door asking him to please be mindful of his neighbors and lower the bass after 10pm due to keeping us awake all night.
It didn’t help. If anything, it seems like he raised the volume a little more.
Maybe he doesn’t want us (or my teacher) living here? Why else would someone be that rude?
I’m so used to living in a house where you never notice stuff like this; I know my cousin often tells me about issues with neighbors being loud or kids screaming and jumping around above her at her place. But once she left a note asking them to be a little quieter after like 10/11pm, they stopped and got a lot better about making so much noise. I was hoping it would work for us. I almost fell asleep in class three times this week!
The last thing I need right now is to fall asleep in class.
What should we do? We have another full week of housesitting here. And I’m already feeling exhausted. My dad told us we’re too young to be affected so quickly by running off of 3 broken-up hours of sleep of night. He laughed at us this morning and said he thought kids our age loved staying up all night partying. lol
